Happy People

By Jennifer K. Sweeney

They do have one blue secret.
It’s about gravity.
They don’t much care for it.
The way it can clod a life
with freight.
And their eyes—
why not over here today
poised across a rib?
No wet marbles.
No inquisition.
Just saying the word turquoise
is to swim it.
See how easily they lean in,
come toward.
The liquid body buoyed
along that sail of air.

Of course! Why didn’t I know that? It is the perfect answer to the question.
